Simply put, I'm looking for a good, economical place to snowboard at in the North Lake Area of Tahoe. I've hit Squaw and Northstar. I like them both, but they are expensive. Alpine Meadows has $50 tickets on line. I'm curious about any others. Also, if anybody has any reviews of Alpine Meadows in regards to snowboarding, I'm all ears.

Thanks in advance.

The north shore tends to be a pretty wet area for Lake Tahoe. When the snow elevation is below 6000 ( around 5000 or lower may be even better) feet it is much better. Lake level is about 6200.
You may want to try Homewood and Donner ski ranches websites. Check their maps and acrerage size to see if they correspond with your needs/wants.

The below url is one of many that may give you better info http://www.snowbomb.com/store/prodbycat.php? cat=PTD4769D8672A041

I would check out the web for deals. This site seems to have some good resort package deals for the North Lake Tahoe area. http://www.gotahoenorth.com/cool-deals/cool-deals-and- more

I like to be at a peak/ high point and look over awesome panoramic views. Some people claim Tahoe resorts are the most scenic on the planet. A few have better lake scenery than others.

If this is a priority, contacting the resort, a concierge, or?? may put the icing on the cake of a great day on the slopes.

Couple things, first I think I posted this a couple years ago, since I ended up at Alpine meadows last year prior to this post date.

Second, I liked Apline Meadows and think that it would have been really enjoyable had the conditions been better.

Lastly, This year I ended up in Colorado at the end of Smarch. We hit the bullseye from across the room. Touched down the day before the big storm at the end of the month. Hit Breckenridge day of the storm, Vail the day after. Wow! Amazing!

As far as Alpine Meadows conditions go, the colder storms that snow around 6000/5000 feet or less in elevation are most likely to produce better snow.
