Hi, my 13 year old son needs a new coat for snowboarding. What is the best kind for mobility and staying dry and warm?

Underneath that coat having material that does not absorb moisture may be more effective than the coat.

thanks, I actually went to the mall today and found a coat DC coat for under $200. After being in Helly Hansen where the jackets were $400.00 and up I thought it was a pretty good deal. It's lightweight with the elastic inner shell and straps and zippers everywhere inside to keep the dampness out.

Hi Tropicsgal, welcome to the forum I am happy you found him such a good deal. Does he also like the coat?

he loves the coat. I was glad to find one under $200.00. It also has the option of snapping it to your pants, if you buy the DC pants. He still has a pair of Burton pants that I bought him last year and I think they will be good for another season.

I think besides buying our season passes and waiting on some snow we are good to go. Hopefully it will be a good season. My husband and I will be skiing while he boards. This will be my first year. Yikes!

Glad to hear he loves his new coat. I always pay much emphasis on how the one wearing it actually feels in it (in the 'old days' mothers bought clothes and gear for practicability only no matter if the child detested the garment or not, but those days are over luckily).

How do you mean "first year"? Your first year skiing? I hope you will like it. I heard it is pretty addictive
