I'm travelling to san francisco in late november on holidays. we are hoping to get in 3-4 days skiing in early december 1st-4th in the Lake Tahoe area. we are looking for the best place to garuntee snow with good runs. both of us are intermediate to advanced skiing. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you can wait for an accurate situation/vicinity forecast (these seem to be 2 weeks notice max) you may want to wait to finalize plans if that works for you. Otherwise there is a lot of fake snow here.

Heavenly, Mammoth (approx. 100 miles from South Lake Tahoe), and Mt. Rose (Diamond Peak maybe) most likely have the driest snow around the Tahoe area. Heavenly should be open on artificial snow if need be by Thanksgiving.

There are around 15 winter resorts in the Tahoe area, any one of them seem to offer something that the others don't.

The below links may give better answers to availability of blown in snow.
