I`ve borrowed my friends boards the past couple years and now I`ve decided I need to buy my own board.
I`m 5`10", 250, size 13 boots so I need a wider board so my boots don`t hang off the edges. I`ve looked online and ive seen the K2 Fatbob and K2 Trucker... but I don`t know a lot about boards. I still consider myself a beginner. Any recommendations?

Tempest (which Ride doesn`t make anymore). If I were to buy a new board I would buy a Donek Wide. Both the Tempest and the Wide have a 26 cm waist.

it would be a noodle for you - which although initially may be useful whilst you`re learning, you`ll very quickly grow out of it.
Baka`s point about 26cm being too narrow is very valid. I`ve smaller feet than you, and I can`t use a 26cm wide board. Check the FAQ for some tips on checking board width in the store. Buy some boots first!!! They will determine what width board you can get away with.
I`d have to second the Sasquatch though, it`s an awesome board.

Get a Burton Bullet. It`s perfect for your size, without making it a big powder floater.
It`s an off take of the old Balance board, but for bigger feet.

Hey Mike, I picked up some Palmer Lifts last year cause I was having alot of heel and toe drag even on a 26cm waist board (166 Silence BK)
Since then I have also picked up a 28cm waist (wide) Venture Zephr and have also mounted the lifts on it.
The reason for me keeping the toes and heels off the snow is cause we are using the snowboards for kiteboarding and have them railed up all day http://www.downhaul.com/kites/020322/images/016.jpg
This board is also a blast to carve on the slopes. later,

Consider getting a Donek Wide. It`s a great board and inexpensive given that it`s semi-custom made. I had a Gnu Carbon Highbeam before, and the donek rides more like a real board and less like a tank.
