My wife and I are planning a trip to Colorado in Early March. We will be staying in Dillon and are considering Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, Snowmass, Winter Park, A-Basin, and maybe Aspen. I have skied before and want to take snowboarding lessons. She has never seen snow before (we`re from Dallas) so I`m not sure if she`ll want to ski or board. I keep reading that Vail is the best place to snowboard in the country, but I have to wonder if that is true for beginners as well. Any recomendations would be appreciated. We will likely ski 2 days and I think I would like to try 2 different resorts in the area.

I posted a response to your first posting before I read this one. You are

with is Aspen (Snowmass). That would be a 2.5 hour drive. A Basin is very small and it?s the highest ski area in North America so pass. I wouldn?t bother with Winter Park either (no offence) You?ll have a great time at Keystone, Breck, and add Copper Mountain to you list. Spend at least one day at Vail but not on Sat or Sunday. I?m a skier but my Snowboarding friends like Beaver Creek better than Vail for snowboarding. As a beginner you won?t be able to appriciate all the terrain that the large resorts offer. I would recommend spending your money on lessons and not lift tickets.
Hope this helps. BTW try the Claim Jumper Restaurant in Frisco. Great prices and good service for down to earth FOOD.

the runs are great. If you buy a lift ticket at Vail it is good at BC as well. In fact, Vail Resorts owns Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckinridge and Keystone. Therefore, your lift ticket is valid at all four resorts.
