Hi I plan to fly to Boston for 3 days before going onto Reno to ski around Lake Tahoe. The only resorts I can think of near Boston are Killington & Stowe. I`m an advanced avid bump skier. Any suggestions on East coast resorts worth skiing?

Killington and Stowe are about 4 hours driving from Boston - you can make it in less, but I wouldn`t plan on it in the winter.
Mad River Glen, which is about 20 miles south of the Interstate (I-89) on the same exit for Stowe is a great alternative for bump skiing.
Consider Cannon Mountain in NH. It`s about 3 hours north of Boston, but not much of a resort. Nearby are Loon Mtn and Waterville Valley. Of the 3, Waterville is probably the easiest (least challenging).

Depends what you are looking for... Cannon is a beautiful mountain, smaller but steepest mtn in the east area. there is Loon Mountain,(fairly big) Waterville Valley(smaller than waterville, but has a good bump run, fairly easy mtn), Killington,(big) Mt. Snow,(big) Sugarbush,(dont know the size) Sugarloaf,(dont know the size) Attitash (smaller), Cranmore (smaller), Gunstock (beautiful area, not sure on size)
Hope that helps... let me know if you have any quesitons.

Sugarbush is the same size (relatively) as Loon unless you count the connected by a long lift mountain at the old Glen Ellen/Sugarbus North. Gunstock and Attitash are much smaller. Gunstock is an easy 2.5 hours from Boston but not very interesting skiing (honest appraisal - I`m originally from there). Sugarloaf is large, but is probably closer to 6 hours from Boston...and not all highway either.
More info if you need it... brian

Within a couple of hrs of Boston are Mt Snow (probably the closest) Stratton and Magic Mtn. Mt Snow will have the most bumps of the bunch. Mad River Glen is the best for the true expert bump skier, but make sure there is plenty of cover, as they don`t make much snow. Also consider Sugarbush. The first 3 are about a 2 hour drive, or less, from Boston. The others are about 4 hrs. If you want to maximize your bump skiing time go to Mt Snow or Magic. If you want to ski one of the most challenging ski areas in the country, go to Mad River, and be sure to get their bumpersticker that says "MAD RIVER. SKI IT IF YOU CAN"
