my old Clicker bindings with my HB boots. On Saturday, in a pissing rain on top of a couple inches of new snow, they felt fine, and I was thinking that maybe I would be OK. Sunday was a different story. The temps dropped overnight, and everything `firmed up nicely` in snow report lingo. (It was a freakin` sheet of ice is more like it.) After about 6 runs I was really getting frustrated because I just had no heel-side control, so I decided to bite the bullet, drove down to the shop recommended to me by housemates (Bonkers in West Dover, VT, they treated me very well), and got a pair of last years Clicker HBs for $135. What a difference, I could actually hold a heelside edge again, and found myself going much, much faster with good control. I`m still getting used to the feeling of external high-backs after years of riding standard Clickers, but I`m very happy with them. So, yeah, you guys were right. I was planning on moving to HBs anyway this year, I guess this was a good thing. Now just to hope the girlfriend doesn`t realize I bought new toys while unemployed.
