Hi Breezz,
My name is don and I live in the southeast.I turned 51 this year. And because of my 19 year old son, I decided to learn to board. Last year I got thru all the "pain" of learning. Been skiing for a long time, but I was a little tired of it. We are in North Carolina and we ride Beech, Sugar, And Appl. mtns.
Bought a Ride Havoc 156. We mostly ride fake snow and ice here. But we go out west a couple time of year.
I would like to see who else is my age on this website.Or is everyone too old? lol. And yes,I take alot of crap from my skier buds.Any old losers out there. later....

Flurries are nice or bluebirds on the peak.
Regular with a touch of goofy.
All-terrain Freestyle..float a bs 180 0ver a roller and you'll know what i mean.
Its not where you ride, its how you ride.

Being I'm older than most of you, I guess that gave me more time to have a lot of experiences out there. I like most of the riding out here in California especially when I get to pick the time and place.

I'm not into parks or extreme air, I watch movies for that. Love riding switch when it works better for me than my normal goofy stance. Ducked bindings for casual riding is relaxing.

You are not going to believe this (this is not a misprint), I love small bumps.

and then there is me........

My favorite summer time hobby is hang gliding.
My new found favorite winter hobby is snowboarding.
MY favorite mountain is out west. Baker....second is whistler.
I am stuck here in WI.
I am 48 years young. My son 10 has got me hooked on snowboarding.
I retired my skis this year. The hills are too small here in Wisconsin and I never get warm cause I am down to quick..
We use Cascade mountain (mountain?) 30 minutes up the road
This is my first year. Last couple of times out I am practising goofy. Love the boxes. Tried a 6 inch wide rail last night...fell off and did a hard face plant. Back at 'er today. I love the small spine transfers. (6-8) feet high)
I love to catch air. Might have something to do with the love of flying.
I love a groomed hill with a couple inches of snow on top.
love to be sponsored as a super dad but i don't think i will get good enough.

cheers

PS.

OLd boarder...?

Like I mentioned on my post. I am 48. I began skate boarding 2 years ago. I don't do street but love to ride the ramps and 1/4 pipes.

Age has nothing to do with anything (someone made it up) till you body is physically unable. If you are healthy you got a long ways to go.

I think the skate boarding helped my snowboarding a lot. Went out for one hard long day at the beginning of this season and the second day I carved down about 23 times without a fall. So I guess people should buy a skate board ..???!!! Kidding.

Ok..(as per the pic 2 years old) i agree the bike helmut and the shoes had to go> i bought skate stuff since.

off to go snowboarding.

Boardorfly, in order to be flexible enough to engage in skate- and snowboarding at a 'later' age, I believe you must have stayed active physically all the years until you took it up no?
