What a better way to practice jumps and tricks then on your own jump!

Find a snowy hill and realize the following tips to create your own jump. All it takes is about one hour’s work with a shovel. Having your own jump all to yourself, all day long is the best conditions for practicing. You will improve much faster this way.
The ideal location is a hill that has a slight slope and that develops to a steeper run which is long enough for you to land on. Build your jump right before the steeper section.
A jump is a bump of snow, so you start by shoveling up a pile of snow. In order to prevent the snow from falling down the steeper slope, use snowboards as a blockage for the front of the jump. Pack the snow to create a stiff jump. Use the base of your board to smooth top. If the slope is natural, you will not need a very steep lip. Create a smooth run going towards the jump using your snowboard. Test it out and make changes if needed. Smooth it out with the base of your snowboard and have fun!
Tips:

1) Taking off in different places will help you find the optimum landing spot of your jump.

2) The best way to learn a new trick is to practice it on the same jump again and again, so building your own jump gives you the ideal conditions for such a lesson.
3) Most resorts will not allow you to build your own jump on their ground, so go somewhere off their ground to a safe place if you can. Do not get lost in the trees and make sure you can still see the resort. In case you get injured you want to have access for help.
