A backside 180 is a great trick to start out with small and then let it grow with your capabilities. Ride toward a roller (that means a small bump) in a straight line with the base of your board flat on the snow. Remain flat on the snow until you are about to jump off the bump. Just when you reach the lip of the jump, tilt your weight towards your toes and spring off them.
Bend your knees in towards your chest and grab Indy - this means grabbing between your feet on the toeside with rear hand. (Once you get the Indy grab you can vary with mute or tail grabs or improve it with the 180). Rotate slowly as you are only trying for 180 degrees (not 360 - that is a higher level). Next look down between your legs as this will help you to spot your landing. Let go of the grab and stretch legs to land. As you land make sure you look uphill to perfect the trick and plant your board, then ride smoothly away.

Tip: It is OK to land a bit on the toe side at first. This helps prevent landing on the heelside as you finish the rotation. Also this will help with learning to land flat based.
