hi, i've been looking for a new snowboard, but i have no idea what to get because i've never owned a board before. I was looking into Lamar snowboards, which have designs that i really like, but obviously that doesn't mean they are good boards. How is the quality of Lamar boards in comparison with say, GNU and Burton boards?

I've only been boarding for about 3 years, so i don't need or want a really high end board. However, i would prefer one with relatively good quality that will last me a while.

Fenixflite, welcome to the forum, I hope you will like it here The chosing of a board is a rather personal and individual thing (like chosing a car )

Burton boards are definatly better quality than lamar. I'm not saying lamars are not good, they'er just not the best.( obviously). If you've never owned a board, and you'er going to start learning, a lamar board would be great.

There are some people who can break almost anything at will. I doubt beginners can do this very often without ending in the emergency room at the local medical services. Weight ratings for a particular deck can go a long way in trying to understand the limits of any snowboard.
