Yep, there is some great riding in N.C. Not necessarily Valdez quality, but is pretty fat for a southern state. Umm, can't remember the names of any areas offhand....Snowshoe Resort rings a bell, but am not sure. Most of the good areas and good snow is, of course, in the Appalachians, towards the western part of the state. They DO actually get snow down there!!

keep a shreddn.

Yup, that's what I was thinking. Probaly one of the best in the east as well! I go surfing in NC in the summer, and it just seems weird to snowboard there, but I'm up for it if I can find a decent resort!

I'm a NC Newbie, but here's what I do know...

We have like a half-dozen resorts up the mountains like Hawks Nest, Appalachian, Beech Mtn, Sugar, and a few more I can't think of Off the top o' the noggin.

Oh, and P.S., I live in the G-borough, and it's about 3 hrs minimum to the mountains, and off topic, Nc is the coolest state in the US, b/c you got beach and moutains a stones throw away.
