First let me say that my experience in skiing is zero, zilch, nada.
Ok, one day I went for a full 8 hour pass in Bear Mountain in SoCal. After falling about 40 times in first 6 hours I started to get the hang of not falling, and of slowing down (crossing skis) on a hill which was a little bit steeper then novice/training.
I plan to go skiing every once in a while (2-3 times a season). I got free skis from a girlfriend that won them in a hotel contest. The skis are Salomon VERSE 5 specs. are:
170 CM
18 Radius
107/73/96 side-cut
I just need to get boots.
I`m 5` 10", 205 lbs.
I have no idea how to maintain ski equipment. These are monocoque by the way. I`m wondering if these are good for a beginner like me? What kind of boots should I get? And in what price range?
Also, any tips on how I should practice the sweeping sideways stops? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Why does this internym ring a bell????? <>
Ooops. Those skis are going to break. You need a pair of K2 710s, 210 cm long. mayonnaise.
