Here are some great resources if you have a disability and want to learn to snowboard:

Hartford Ski Spectacular - one of the nation’s largest winter sports festivals for people with disabilities (including snowboarding, even though they haven't changed the name yet) - http://www.dsusa.org/programs-winter-hartford.html 240-268-1250

Disabled Sports USA - nationwide sports rehabilitation programs (including snowboarding) to anyone with a permanent disability - http://www.dsusa.org/index.html 301-217-0960

Wounded Warrior Project - outdoor adaptive sports programs (including snowboarding) for recently wounded veterans - http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ 877-TEAM-WWP

National Veterans Winter Sports Clinic - an annual week-long festival for disabled veterans that includes snowboarding and skiing - http://www1.va.gov/vetevent/wsc/2008/default.cfm 970-244-1314

And I have to put in a plug for my two favorite adaptive snowboard programs:

Adaptive Sports Center of Crested Butte - year-round adaptive sports programs, including snowboarding, skiing & ice climbing, in Crested Butte, Colorado - http://www.adaptivesports.org 866-349-2296

Courage Alpine Skiers and Snowboarders - Adaptive snowboarding and skiing in Minnesota & western Wisconsin - http://www.courageskiers.com 763-520-0495
