Looking at getting a new pair of boots this year. The best fiting pairs I have found so far are the Salomon Dialogue`s and Thirty-Two Team Two`s. I think each fit equally well. Any opinions on these two boots? Why would you pick one ovewr the other if they each fit well?
Oh yeah, I pretty much a lower intermediate freerider (not a lot of tricks yet), though hopefully that will change this year with my season pass. I`m looking to play some in the terrain park this year as well, though, the majority of my time will be just riding all over the mountain.

Alot of people love salomons. I`ll never be able to wear them.. they just DON`T fit my feet.. but I`ve tried several of them on and I do like their one pull lacing system with lace locks. Makes lacing up your boot and getting the tightness correct as easy as possible.

I`ve had salomon dialogues for two years now and I love them. I have narrow feet and these boots are great. I ride like 45 times a year and they are still holding their flex. They aren`t as bulky as other boots, so they fit most bindings rather well. Hope this helps

I bought this year`s Dialogues. I haven`t tried them on the mountain yet (duh) but they are super comfy and fit perfectly. My heel won`t move even if I pull on the boots with my hands. And I dunno about the 32`s but the Diaglogues are light as hell, too.

I`ve had Salomon Dialogue boots for 1 season, and they`re great ! And I have wide feet. But, you definitely need a decent footbed with them. I use the green SuperFeet drop-ins. `later...

I have Salomon Dialogues and really like them. I have narrow, flat feet. As people mentioned the lacing system is really convenient. They lose a little stiffness after around 20 days of riding, but they are still pretty durable overall. I would describe myself as an expert I guess - I ride 25-35 days a year for the last 7 years (well I only went 5 times a year the first two years). I do both park, pipe and freerider (more so now that I`m out in the west). The dialogue are good if you want to try some terrain park (compared to the synapse or the malamute) - they aren`t as stiff and you can ollie and tweak the board more easily.

I just picked up Salomon F`s and they are unbelievable. It hurts when you have to pay for them (big, big time ( - but the boots rock. They are so frickin` small, my feet size 12 (boots size 10.5) look like I`m wearing 9. Very light, very comfy, extra stripe locks your heels inside, lacing is quick and simple, very high quality. 32`s are light, but with F`s it`s hard to say what`s lighter. But 32`s are bulky and if you have big feet, it`s hard to fit your bindings easily.

if so, how to they compare in terms of stiffness and comfort? Do they fit similarly?

you can kind of adjust stiffness on them. Lacing them tighter makes them stiffer. It`s hard to explain, but you should check them out. But the main difference for me was the feeling inside, F just feel more comfortable to me. Also the quality of outer finishing is much higher, so you can assume they will last longer. They won`t pack out neither, as liner doesn`t seem to have any room for packing out. And the same size boot is much smaller outside. Stiffness wise, I`d say they are closer to Preface than Malamute.

Malamutes are still holding up very well... the previous year I went through 3 pairs. (Salomon`s warranty dept must have loved me...)

Wow, I`ve never got this many respones to a newgroup post! I really appreciate all the feedback.
Since the Thirty-Two`s were less than the Salomon`s ($167 for last years TM-2 /$240 originally vs $197 for the Salomon`s), I went ahead and bought them and took them to the store that had the Salomon`s so I could compare them side-by-side. I was hoping to like the TM-2`s more and save a little cash (and support a great local board shop), but as usual, I liked the more expensive Salomon`s best (though I really dislike the dealer). Soooo, taking the Thirty-Two`s back tomorrow and then going to pick up the Salomon`s afterwards. Overall, the Dialogue`s just fit better, have a footbed so I can put in a custom footbed if I choose and I really liked the locking lace mechanism. The Thirty-Two`s were real high-tech, light and well made, but bulkier and the footbed was just the bottom of the liner - no insert. I think a person could be very happy with either boot.

You`ve pretty much made up your mind and I`m a bit late to post here but....I bought Salomon`s half way through a Euro trip last season cos my Burton`s were killing my feet - best boarding thing I`ve bought - dead cheap, super comfy and the lace locks are superb, you need to retighten rarely. The boots are stiff enough and very light (think about overweight airline baggage..). But you should be able to pick up 02 season boots discounted - I`ve seen them advertised in Europe for ?80 (~$120).
Do yourself a favour and invest in some arch inserts - your toes will never numb up due to overtightening. Have a good wan.
