got the same setup. Last year`s Definition 156 and SP4 shaped bindings. I`ll let you know what they are like in 2 weeks (my first weekend will by the 6-7th). I have riden the `98 and `99 Salomon 154s (the second one I rode for 3 years) and I like them a lot, I can only assume the Definition (which is a level up) would be as good or better (might be a little less forgiving to less experienced riders).
The SP4 Bindings look like a nice pair of bindings. I`m coming off of a pair of Burton Missions that were overally really good, but didn`t quite fit my boots that well (I have Salomon Dialogues). Now it might seem like I`m a Salomon person with the boots, board, and bindings... but I tried a bunch of different setups before ending up with an all Salomon setup. I really like the boards... and then I switch to the boots because Nitro stopped making the model I liked - Salomon fit narrow feet well and there no-tying lacing system is great, finally I switched to the binding because (not surprisingly) they fit Salomon boot really well. The bindings has a really big and beefy upper strap which should probide good grip. I`m ambivalent about the special disk and the no-release toe-grip innovations... they "look" nice, but I want to see if they are actually useful on the snow.
So anyway, I`ll let you know. I know I`m keeping the board and the boots... but I might return my bindings if I don`t like them and go back to the Burton Missions I had.
