What are these places like? I know they haven`t opened yet which is weird cuz i`ve been enjoying awesome conditions here in Ontario (blue mountain and Mt. Louis). Anyways i`m moving to maple ridge soon and just wanted to know what the closest hills were like. What are their verts?

to snowboard there, and got tired of it quickly. When I first went to Cypress.. I was in awe. After spending a season there, i think it`s ok =). Blackcomb is great. I haven`t tried Grouse.
Here are the websites for our local mountains. Seymour: http://www.mountseymour.com Grouse: http://www.grousemountain.com Cypress: http://cypressmountain.com/default.html
All three mountains expect to open this Friday, the 20th. I`m keeping my fingers crossed that it keeps snowing up there.
The Cypress website has some pdf documents showing their plans for creating new terrain in anticipation of the 2010 olympics. You`ll probably find some detailed maps that would be more useful than their trail maps.
I`m not sure how your mountains are like, but from what I hear about Blue Mountain from my coworkers, then Cypress will be much better, although, it does get crowded. ps - I would anticipate that drive from Maple Ridge to the top of one of the mountains to be about an hour, but most of the trip (distance wise) is through a major highway (Transcanada HWY 1).
