I am getting a Ride Yukon 169. On my old board, I had K2 clicker bindings and was really happy with them. Everyone is telling me that I will lose a lot of preformance with SI bindings on the Yukon. I was thinking about getting Burton SI bindings for my new board. What do you guys think? Would I lose to much board preformance with SI bindings?

Skylords a fairly stiff boot and I think they work fine with any all- mountain board on East Coast hardpack. On really soft deep powder stuff I prefer flexible strap boots but I bet some older soft Clickers would be OK as well.

performance difference whatsoever between them and a good set of strap bindings. The only reason I switched "back" to straps was that I couldn`t find boots that fit well to go with them after my original pair wore out. If your boots don`t fit well you`re not going to have good performance no matter what bindings you have. My experiences suggest that good fit is even more important with step-ins than it is with straps. If you choose step-ins beware that your boots will probably go south first and you may end up in the same situation I was in.
Of course, if you are *really* into carving and control then hard boots and plate bindings may be the right answer for you. See www.bomberonline.com - great site about carving - there are even some good hard boots on their closeouts section very cheap. I plan to ride hard boots this year except when I want to ride park and pipe... essentially, when there`s no freshie and the groomed runs are trashed. I find it`s significantly more challenging than riding in soft boots but when you rail a carve in hard boots - oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah!

In my case the Burton SI boots don`t fit as well as I would like, and if the boot doesn`t fit, the whole system is compromised. So, don`t make the same mistake I did. Before you get the bindings, make sure the boots will fit.
The interface between the boots and the bindings is solid enough. Not too much clogging although you do usually have to brush the snow away from the tabs and the binding plate before trying to click in.
The binding plastic is pretty soft. As a result the hardware for adjusting the binding back becomes fairly useless after a while. For the price, I`m disappointed with the quality.
