I feel like I have info-overload. I been reading SKI mag and searching the www for a week now. We`re looking for a place to stay in Utah for skiiing this winter (dec 14-18). We`re not really tied to Utah, except that narrowed it down a BIT! We`d consider anywhere out west with a nice 3000` hill within driving distance from a Delta-services airport.
We`re looking for a place near a city which offers ski-in /out, hottub & pool, adult-oriented, for $100 / night max. We don`t care as much about the room being nice as we do having a nice outdoor hottub and pool where we can hang out at night. We plan to rent a car so anywhere within an hour from SLC would be great.
She`s a novice he`s an expert so we`d need ski-school and bunny hill as well as black-diamonds.
Any recommendations? Believe me we`re all ears I feel like I`m researching a term paper!

I am always on a budget and stay at http://ccinn.citysearch.com/ for less than $50 per night. It`s not exactly what you are looking for but is in SLC only about 30 minutes drive from the best 2 resorts in Utah Alta & Snowbird in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Alta & Snowbird should have the best snow early in the season too. There is a Best Western Hotel at the Kimball exit for Park City that might be worth looking at. I stayed there for a week a few years ago and seemed to remember that it had a pool & hot tub. Park Plaza Resort 2060 Sidewinder Drive,Park City, UT 84060 is worth a look. Use web sites http://salt.lake.city.hotelguide.net/ and http://utah.citysearch.com/ for ideas. I am sure that the locals will reply with much better suggestions. Good luck.

be able to find an early season special, but finding a ski-in/ski-out room at $100 is going to be tough.
If you`re willing to raise your price limit a bit (say a factor of two or so), the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird has ski-in/out, hot tub and pool, bunny hills and expert chutes.

search site you gave us. Its called The Yarrow? It seems to offer nice central accomodations, a hottub and pool, and they are giving out the 2002 $20 off lift ticket coupons so that should bring our daily costs down. Does anyone have any opinions on this resort?

hotel. It`s not exactly ski in/ski out, but the ski shuttle is just a short walk away.

others said here, are double the price! THey offered me a room at the Yarrow for $79 in December, which from what I can see shopping around for rooms, is an excellent rate. Combined with the $20 pp discount coupons the net room rate ends up at like $39 a night!
I wish I knew more about the hottub and pool- they say they are outdoor which sounds great, but you know how you envision one thing and find another!? Like they might have some rule no hottubbing after 9PM or something.
We have a rental car so we`re not too worried about getting to the resorts- in fact this will give us more mobility.
Oh yes the rental car was a real adventure. At first we were going to just use the shuttles and not get a car. Then we found out that the airport shuttle was $27 each way pp, so we figure hell a car is probably about that much. We searched and called everywhere- Enterprise, Avis, Hertz, National, Budget, Advantage, etc. Most (except Advantage) quoted us around $200 for the 4 days. Enterprise quoted $250 and their recording said the agents give "the lowest rate available".
Undaunted, we got on www.orbitz.com and found Enterprise cars intermediate for $23/day which with the crazy airport and license taxes came out to like $127. HALF of the telephone quote! Now isn`t that just a little strange when they make that claim about guaranteeing the lowest quote on the phone? I called back to inquire and to make sure there were no hidden costs and apparently that`s all it will be. Strange.
Now we`re into the adventure of finding a good rental shop. In Stowe we use one in the town that has great rates, no waiting, and excellent fitting. Any advice on a shop near the Yarrow wold be appreciated. Also if they have special offers like 3 day rentals etc. That would be helpful.
Thanks again!

I have stayed at the Yarrow. It`s not particularly charming, but the pool and hottub is great. The other really nice thing is that it is the endpoint for the shuttle, so you can wait inside the lobby to wait for it. The only grocery in Park City is right next door, which is a big plus. The shuttle gets you to the mountain (Park City) in 5 minutes or to Deer Valley in 10-15. The really nice thing about skiing at Deer Valley is that you can leave your skis, boots, poles, helments, whatever there overnight for free if you don`t want to lug them back and forth.

There`s also a Smith`s at Kimball Junction (near I`80), where you can buy discounted lift ticket vouchers when they`re available.

Cole Sport (across the street from Jan`s) is another good rental spot. My husband and I take our skis there each year for tuning. They have a good selection of demo skis, too. Both stores have satellite stores at Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley.
One thing to remember about driving and parking up on Main Street - it`s paid parking. It`s a "pay and display" system where you have to go to a parking machine, put in money, get a ticket, and put the ticket on your dashboard. Only a few of the machines take dollar bills. So, either have change handy when you are going uptown, or have your credit card ready for that charge.
