We can only go skiing to North America at Easter - (12th - 22nd April in 2003) We are thinking of Colorado (been to Whistler, Banff and Whistler the last three years) - Which resorts are worth going to that late in the season? Will the conditions be any good at all? Should we consider somewhere else - Utah? Mammoth? Any

Summit County (Breckenridge, Keystone, ABasin, & Copper Mt) is usually very good after Easter. Crowds are way down and the snow is usually great.

Why only North America, not that there is anything wrong with it?
I have skied Val d`Isere the past 2 years in late April and it has been superb.

I have not skied western USA, we have skied in the East a few times in Vermont. I can`t say it was cheap, in fact I would say it was expensive, but it was fun and we will go back sometime. I will say that the ski school at Stowe really brought my Son ( at 5 and 6 years old ) on a treat. He skied the Face at Val d`Isere last April, with is Instructor, at age 6 - yes I was gob smacked!!
I agree with your queue problems in France, having lived 1 hr from Chamonix for 4 years I know what you mean!!. However the later weeks of April ( not Easter holiday weeks ) in Val d`Isere have been almost queue free.
We are going to St. Anton at Christmas for a family holiday and I will probably do the Val d`Isere thing just with my Son ( now 7 ) on one of the quieter and cheaper weeks around Easter.
