I`ve a group of friends visiting me for the new year in Boston and we want to go skiing/snowboarding in the New Year 1st -6th Jan.
There will be about 15 coming from Europe and It has to be a resort that caters for
1) Both Skiers & snowboarders ie. pipe and parc for the boarders would be nice 2) All abilities - beginners to those who have done seasons in France. 3) 3 hours max from boston 4) Things to do for non-skiers - a place with village maybe with skating/cafes/shopping etc. 5)Most importantly!!!! a place with a night life.
I`ve been looking at a few places in NH - attitash, looks like it could be an option. I`ve been to Killington but was disappointed in that it doesn`t have a town /village centre or anything you could call a night life. It was 3 years ago so don`t hang me if its now buzzing.
Remember I`ll be comparing the night life to Austria and France. Where dancing on the tables to terrible folk music with lots of scnapps is the norm.

Stowe,VT. is the place to go. It has a great mountain, terrific town, and a lot of great places to eat and party! Check back if you need more info.

If you are looking for a good place for boarders and skiers, with a village, and terrain for both beginners and advanced skiers and riders, try Stratton. It is a riders heaven with some of the best terrain parks around. The village has shopping and some good bars, but things die after about 7:00. The town of Manchester is about 30 minutes away with great shopping and OK nightlife. And as far as night life, if you found Killington lacking, then I`m not sure where else to send you. Killington is the nightlife capitol of the east. Hunter Mtn in NY is the only place that comes close. My advice is to go to Stratton, enjoy the apres ski party at Bears Den (which really rocks) then bring the party back to your room, or head over to Mt Snow.
