I have read a few articles about how to take care of the base by cleaning, waxing, blah blah...I am trying to find a way to clean the top of my board, after a couple of years of use i noticed that it is not as smooth as before and the snow would pile up on top of it and tend to stay on top of the board but i remembered when the board is new its always smooth on top and rarely snow piling on it.....anyways for making the top of the board nice and smooth again? thank you

The top of you board should not be as sensitive as the base of the board. I will clean mine with windex and paper towel when its dirty. If you want snow to slide off of it try waxing it with a car wax or spraying it with WD-40 and wiping it off. I don't think that this will affect how your board rides or feels.

Hey aliumlike welcome to the forum

I agree, clean it 'regularly' and use wax to smooth it up

thanks guys...

I've been snowboarding for a few years but never really get into "care" of my board..I am going to learn how to wax and tune up my board this year since I am going more and more intense down the hills and regular tune up is necessary. thanks again

If my edge has gotten rusty, on the side and bottom, is that easily gotten rid of with an edge tune up? and what are peoples thoughts on the little edge tools to do it yourself??

I prefer the edge tools that can have a variable angle for beveling. People who do the features like boxes and rails may want more of a bevel on the bottom side of the edge. Diamond stones used after the bevel has been achieved will increase the top speed of the snowboard.

A slight rust probably isn't to much of an issue unless precision edging and max speed are very high priorities. What is very important is the edges are not rusted where they are connected to the deck. This most likely will compromise the strength of the board to hold the edge in.

http://www.zardoznotwax.com/ claims to have a rust inhibitor.
