Hi,

Just wondering whether someone can help me. I have recently converted from skiing to boarding and am looking for a beginner/intermediate board I can progress with. An all mountain one.

Being only 5 foot or 1.52cm there are limited boards of suitable length. I was looking at the Burton Troop or Salomon Radiant. Any idea which is better or any other recommendations? Also, I like the Burton Bindings however does this mean I am limited to a burton board? Can I use a Burton binding on a Salomon board?

Confused me

Hi MooliMooli, welcome to the forum

I hope you'll enjoy and get some real useful advise (must be there are such experienced snowboarders here in the community that I'd be surprised if you wouldn't)

I've been reading into measuring the right size of snowboard in general and could say something about that, but I feel this is not exactly what you're asking

You definitely can use Burton binding with other boards. Most Burton binding come with both the 3 hole and 4x4 base plates, or a combo base plate. Burton is the only manufacturer that I know of that uses the 3 hole system on their boards. Therefore the problem would be using another manufacturers binding on a burton board. I always recommend burton boards over other manufacturers, because they are the most innovative, and have been around the longest. I ride a burton board and couldn't be happier.

cool thanks for that. Guess I'll stick with Burton then just to be safe. At least I know if I want to change going forward that my bindings will be compatible with other brands.
