I am planning on buying a board, but i want to know when all of the manufacturers release their new boards to stores. Are the best prices when they come out, or a few weeks later after demand isnt so high?

Speaking from experience in the Northeast, the best prices are at the end of the season (April). All the boards will be 50% off at that time.

It's better now. When it gets colder outside business picks up and up go the prices. I just bought a 2000 model at $50.00 off.

And the stuff they didn't sell LAST year comes out again in the fall, sometimes at HUGE discounts. Also, end of season deals on rentals from shops and hills are good deals. I met someone who got two boards with bindings and three pair of boots for $150!

If you are comfortable ordering online, I would recommend that you look into online snowboard shops. I just got a really sweet deal on a board and bindings from www.boardzone.com The staff was friendly and my order arrived very quickly... it only took about a week.
