If you live out west like me, you`ve probably been dying for a good dump of snow. I`ve been checking Whistler and Big White webcams every day for the past 2 weeks. Anyway, I found a really good site (see: subject heh) that has VERY comprehensive information for most large resorts. It even has info on Cypress Mountain in Vancouver, which I didn`t expect cuz it`s a crappy little local hill. But for some reason it only has 2 resorts from Washington state... No Mt. Baker or Bachlor, and I dunno but the ones they do have Stevens Pass and Crystal Mountain look lame. Anyway, the biggest thing is that most weather reports give surface data, but not for higher elevations. But www.snow-forecast.com has estimates for the bottom, middle and top of every mountiain. You have to pay to get the full 0-6 day forecasts, but even the free 0-3 day ones are very informative. I paid about 4 bucks US to to try it out for a month. Anyway I`m ranting. PS I`m not a guy from the site trying to advertise, I`m just a snowboarding freak.

<snip> some good riding, Steven`s has some excellent riding. They certainly aren`t Whistler so if everything sub-par to Whistler is lame then just about everything else in North America fits that description. There`s really only 3 places in Washington State worth your time; Baker, Crystal, and Steven`s. Crystal is the only "resort", but is a sad excuse for a resort by the Whistler standard. Everything else here is basically a "locals" area since there are no on-hill accomodations. Plus you won`t find the good riding advertised in a magazine or brochure so you`d have to find or follow the locals.
I`ll agree that Canada has some excellent riding so you`d probably be better off staying there and help reduce the crowding problems on our slopes. We have enough Californians moving up here as it is.
